Thet a Thet 2

Thet a Thet is a father and son project. Sonny Thet, father and cellist, has already been quite popular playing with his band BAYON back in the 70ies. Some of you might know Anthony Thet from the VOX TV show “X-Factor”.

I already played live with Anthony a while ago and I remember that I had a lot of fun. This is why I was excited, when my friend and colleague Stefan Henning (producer and co-songwriter of the album) called me a year ago saying: Hey Bachi, Anthony is making an album and wants you to be his drummer. Mixing and Mastering was done by Jonas Fehrenberg. Jonas, Stefan and me have already been playing in bands together in the past and of course were involved in recordings.

Other musicians of the album are: Simon Anke – Keys, Rene Flächsenhaar – Bass, Elena Boyadjyeva – Background Vocals

The Drum Recording

It took some time for us to find the right sound, but this was the final set up:
Hayman (1968) 20, 12, 16 (Emperor Felle)/ Snare´s: Ludwig Supraphonic 14×6,5 (Remo-Ambassador/ fette Dämpfungsringe), Premier 14×5 Royal Ace, Aria 14×08/ Cymbals: Crash Masterworks 18″, Ride Zildjian K Custom, Hihat´s 12″ Meinl Byzance/ Sticks: Icestix Crusher 5A/ Mic´s: OH: Mikrofon Gefell Mv 691, SN: SM 57 top/ MD 421 bottom, BD AKG D112, St.Tom MD421, Wurst SM58, Raum RB 500/ Preamp: RME OctaMic/ Interface: Motu 828pre

This album contains 10 great songs. It was so much fun to record the music, that is a little bit like something between John Mayer, Eric Clapton and Lenny Kravitz. Stefan gave me the guides, I recorded 3 to 6 versions of one song and sent them to him. I would say my favourite song is “Only A Dream” written by Stefan Henning. It is kind of different that the others and so it shows another side of Anthony as a musician.
